TRAVEL TIPS

Visitor Information

The city’s visitors association, Travel Portland, produces an excellent website and staffs an information center in Pioneer Courthouse Square (just walk through the glass doors between the water features).

The Oregon Coast Visitors Association provides information on coastal towns as well as a helpful FAQ on driving tours and beach etiquette at www.visittheoregoncoast.com. The Columbia River Gorge Visitors Association website, www.crgva.org, has tons of links to help you find outfitters, events, and accommodations in this popular recreation area less than an hour east of Portland. Before you head to Mt. Hood to hike or ski, go to www.mthoodterritory.com for driving tour maps, agritourism suggestions, and more. Oregon's wine country is a major attraction, and the Willamette Valley Visitor's Association offers plenty of guidance at www.oregonwinecountry.org.
