The city of San Francisco now offers free Wi-Fi service in selected parks and areas in and around the city. For a detailed list of locations visit www6.sfgov.org. All public libraries also provide Internet access and most hotels have a computer stationed in the lobby with free (if shared) high-speed access for guests. Some hotels can charge up to $10 a day to provide a high-speed connection in the room, others offer it free of charge. In addition, many cafés throughout San Francisco, Marin County, and the East Bay offer free Wi-Fi, but a few continue to charge a $5 to $7 fee.
