POINTS OF INTEREST
Chef Gerard, honorary French consul and former private chef to François Mitterrand, is one of the pioneers in Las Terrenas. For decades, he has been serving refined cuisine at this laid-back outpost at the far end of Playa Bonita. More classical than contemporary, what Francophone doesn’t love a Marseille bouillabaisse? Seafood choices shine particularly brightly on this menu and the calorie-conscious Diet-Bio Menu is keeping up with the times. Lunch can be taken at the beach palapa (which has free Wi-Fi), and candlelit dinners on the covered terrace; both have unobstructed ocean views. The backdrop is the white Hotel Atlantis, which looks like it came from a Greek isle.
